Art_Connection to Nature

The first graders have been painting a forest inspired by Henry Thoreau, Henri Rousseau and their own personal connections to nature. The painting is layered with rick colors, textures, and shapes. The shapes they collected, as some artists do, by sketching near the wildflower garden. Another time, they collected shapes of leaves by taking pictures with their iPads.

 

 

Scribble Press

The first two computer science goals in 1st grade are to create and communicate using various apps and technology.  We began the year by reviewing iPad basics.  Next, first graders created an autobiography called "All About Me" using the Scribble Press app.  After completing the autobiography, each student learned how to share the story with the class, using Apple AirPlay.
